A Memory of Muscat...

It was a nice, sunny, day. We had a tasty breakfast of sandwiches, got dressed, and set out for a walk. By 'we' I mean me, my siblings, parents, and a younger cousin. We were on a trip to Muscat. We were staying in my uncle's house. It was a really very enjoyable trip. We walked on, talking about road safety, and to hold hands while crossing the road. After walking for about 10 minutes, we reached Al Qurum Park.(orHadeeqa tul Qurum Attabibyah in Arabic) We went inside, and continued walking in the scorching heat, while taking LOTS of pictures. The park was very beautiful, with vast, green lawns here and there, and a winding path in the middle. There were various types of flowers, almost everywhere. We walked and walked. Finally,we reached the back door of the park. We walked some more, and finally, we reached our destination, The Children's Museum. It was a science Museum for kids of all ages. We went inside and did lots of experiments and learned new things. The Museum had all sorts of experiments, like there was one in which you to take out the parts of the body from a 'body' made of rubber. Then you had to place the pieces back. It wasn't easy, but we enjoyed giving it a try. Then there was a circle-shaped sandbox in the middle, with sand inside. You had to clear out the sand to the sides, and then scoop it up in a small spade and put it in a funnel, attached to some thread. When you moved the rope, the sand would make designs. It was fun trying out the experiments in the Museum. After about 45 minutes, we left the Museum. Our cousin was really tired, as he wasn't used to waking so much. So, we boarded a taxi, and went to a Tea corner. We ordered Rgag(something like a chapati but much tastier, with filling inside), Tea, and bought juices, flavoured milk, and different kinds of yogurts and custard from a nearby shop. Then, we gathered at the Tea corner, had a delicious lunch, and walked all the way, back to my uncle's home.
