Star

This is a Haiku that I wrote about stars. A dim ray of hope, A spot of light, in the dark, Twinkling in the sky.

Maths(Poem)

Maths, as some say, is an awful subject, But it's really a useful sort of concept. Though some find it really hard to be, It's not so bad, as you will see. First you'll learn how to add, subtract, and multiply, There are numbers, both even and odd, oh my!!! But soon this will be far to easy, 'Cause decimals really make your brain cheesy. You'll also be learning, volume and area, Weather and temperatures in Siberia!!! Algebra's really tricky with the ' x  and y', Though you'll get it as soon as you give it a try! But most importantly, for Maths, a brain you'll need, 'Cause Maths is the plant and your brain is the seed!

Technology and it's dangers

Many people say,"Technology is fast. It makes life more easier and practical." Well, in a way, they are right. Technology does make life more easier. But technology makes life soo  easy that it makes you stop doing anything by yourself. Everything is available on the TV or your tablet. Working hard, is something we're trying to avoid! Patience is disappearing! You don't have to wait the postman to bring you your letter, you can get what you want by emailing or simply text messaging. In order to get what you want fast, you stop moving your arms and legs and you turn into a couch potato-that's exactly what technology is doing. Technology is slowly taking over our lives. Cooking and Shopping are chores that can be done through technology. Soon, nobody will be cooking and shopping by their own. Many people think that they don't need to go out in the fresh air for entertainment, as the games available in there gadgets are more fun and appealing. As a result, obes

My Complex Machine

Image
A complex machine is a machine made out of 2 or more simple machines. This is my second complex machine, The Manual Grinder. The purpose of this machine is to grind wheat, corn, rice, or grains of any sort. It is better than the Electric Grinder because it does not use any energy. To grind your grains in this machine, you have to empty your crops in the white box with two wheels inside and an axle sticking out.  When you turn the axle, the wheels will move, crushing the grains inside. You have to turn the axle till the grains are completely powdered. Then you have to push a lever (on the side of the box in the picture below)which reveals an opening at the end of the box, and the grounded grains slide down the inclined plain , and into the box. There! Your grains are grounded, and ready to use.

An ode to my blanket

dedicated to my beloved blanket. Oh, I really love you so! You are wonderful, you know, I cuddle up in you at night, You are a very pleasant sight! You are the one that keeps me warm, It's like you have some sort of charm, Inside you, I will always sleep, My secrets you will always keep. You are something I love to use, It's you I will never refuse, You're really a comfy object, You're something no one does reject. So please don't mind me being the boss, When across the bed you get a toss, When I scramble up and out of bed, And straight for the kitchen I head.

From flower to fruit: A presentation by me.

This is a presentation by me. It's about how flowers turn into fruits. Pictures are from my garden.

Nature Haiku

Here are two of my favorite Haiku(by me, of course!) on the topic of nature. In these Haiku, I've tried to capture the beauty of farmlands and Hilly areas. Though the beauty can never be captured,  because these places are far to beautiful and pleasant, I wrote these two remind you (and me) of how beautiful nature can be. Snowy Mountains Hills covered with snow, Pine trees that sway in the wind, As River flows by. Farm Lovely green meadows, Fields filled up with golden crops, Birds fly in the sky.

Powerful and Inspirational quotes

Here are 2 very inspirational and powerful quotes that I read, recently in books. These quotes were just wonderful, so I decided to share them with you all. "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten" -Verne Hill "Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self"  -Cyril Connolly

How books can affect your personality

Books affect your personality, very, very, much. How? Read on! How books can affect your writing When I was 7 years old, and in Grade 2, I loved to read stories by Enid Blyton.  I'd borrow them from the school library, or read the ones we'd had at home. I faintly remember reading the books, and trying to write exactly like her. It was sort of like an inspiration-  wanting to do something like somebody.  I believe, what you read will affect your style of writing; you'll sound like a mixture of authors you've read, and somehow, you've developed your own style. Not only will it affect the style, but it will affect the content- it'll affect WHAT you write. So read the books by the authors you want to sound like. How books can affect your perspective and thinking Each book has a perspective: of how you view the world around you. (The perspective of a book is actually the Writer's perspective.) Tragic books with sad endings make you feel that nothing's g

'You need a smile to look good'

A smile on your face, That's only what it takes, To make you look beautiful and nice, Looking good doesn't mean you have to be, under a disguise! If you're really angry, sad or looking blue, How do you think people, will get to like you? Looking happy means you can have, lots of friends, Without needing make-up, fashion or trends! Above all being happy, is not being sad, Being happy is to smile, and feel really glad!

Seasonal Haiku

Hi! Here are two of my recentest Haiku that I wrote the day before yesterday. I am calling them "Seasonal" because they are about seasons, and also because I wrote four Haiku the same day! So in a way, it's the "Season" of Haiku, that's why I wrote so many at a time!  Here are the two poems, about  the seasons, Spring and Autumn. Trees look fresh and green, Flowers blooming everywhere, Winter says goodbye. Leaves crunch under feet, Winter starting to approach, Trees look brown and bare. Since Haiku don't usually have a title, I am not writing any. So, can you guess which poem is aboput which season? Try it!
